Instructions for Use : valved holding chamber with mask

A valved holding chamber (also known as a spacer) is a device designed to facilitate and improve the use of a metered-dose inhaler.

Remove the cap from the metered-dose inhaler, then shake the inhaler.

Insert the metered-dose inhaler into the back of the spacer device.

Place the mask on the face and check to make sure that there is a good seal. Breathe out to empty the air from the lungs.

At the beginning of a slow breath in, press the metered-dose inhaler to release a dose of the medication. Breathe in and out slowly and deeply for 5 to 6 breaths holding the mask on the face.

Do not breathe too fast: some devices emit a whistling sound to let you know if you are breathing too quickly.

If you must take more than one inhalation (of the same medication or another medication), wait 1 to 2 minutes between doses.

Clean the device once a week, as recommended by the manufacturer. Replace the spacer after 12 months of use.
