Kojic Acid
Description
From “koji”, rice in Japanese, it is derived from rice fermentation and also used in the making of sake.
Active principle
Kojic acid slows down the activity of the enzyme responsible for the melamine pigment (a dark brown pigment that colours skin). It is effective as a skin concealer and provides a light to medium peeling effect. Kojic acid is used in medicine and in the preservation of food and flowers.
