Transferring Your Prescriptions is Easy!
If you’re moving a long way from your current pharmacy, you’ll probably have no choice but to switch to a new pharmacy. However, it’s good to know that you can always have your file transferred to another pharmacy, regardless of the reason.
DIFFERENT WAYS TO HAVE YOUR FILE TRANSFERRED
The prescription transfer process* is simple, and can be done online, by phone, or in person.
Although it is entirely up to you, it may be easier to choose a pharmacy that’s affiliated with the same chain or banner. That way, you can continue to use the same online services you are already signed up for.
1. Online
Complete and submit the secure form on our website, and it will be sent directly to the new store you select.
Once the pharmacy team receives your information, they will open a file for you.
Then, they will contact your current pharmacy to get all your health and prescription information.
After that, you will receive a call from a member of the lab team to validate the information with you and finish opening your file.
The first time you go to your new pharmacy to pick up your prescription drugs, you will be asked to show some ID to confirm your identity.
2. By phone
Call the new pharmacy you have selected and ask to speak with the lab team. You will be asked a few questions in order to open a file, including your name, address, date of birth, health insurance number, contact information, as well as questions about your health. The pharmacy team will then contact your current pharmacy for details about your prescriptions.

3. In person
You can ask for a prescription transfer in person by going to the pharmacy counter at the new location you have chosen.
The pharmacy team will then create your file and request the prescription information from your current pharmacy. Please note that your file will not be completed the same day you requested the transfer, so you will have to come back another time to pick up your medication once your file is complete.
Don’t wait until you need your medication before requesting a transfer, especially if you are taking more than one. For a simple, hassle-free transfer, opt for an online or over-the-phone transfer.
